Sleeping Soundly in Seattle

A crescent of white accented the red globe of the lunar eclipse against the night sky over El Paso as I left my house for the airport v e r y early Tuesday morning. By late morning, my flight was approaching Seattle on a route which offered spectacular and lingering views of Mt Ranier. Ahhh, Seattle, the Emerald City, trees that are tall and loaded with leafy green, an ocean of water, and cool, cool breezes. What a refreshing contrast to the sweltering heat of a rental house with a non-functioning cooling unit. I expected to be hot in El Paso, but didn't expect to have to sweat myself to sleep. Of course, the person who had been contacted by the landlord to do the repair called me just after I arrived at my daughter's house. Here's hoping when I get back next week, the temps will be lower and the cooler working again.
In the meantime, I slept, and slept, very soundly last night. I'm on vacation - a break from routine and responsibilities but best of all time with adorable grandson, delightful daughter, charming son-in-law and assuming safe arrival tonight from Wisconsin, wonderful son. Plus, another night of sleeping - without the sound of a fan breezing my body to a state of almost comfortable enough for rest.
